Hyderabad: Speeding Mercedes runs over eight pedestrians, hits autorickshaw, one killed

Hyderabad/IBNS: A 70-year-old woman was killed and at least seven others were injured in a hit-and-run case involving a Mercedes Benz SUV reported from the Shahalibanda area in Hyderabad's Old City in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to reports, the over speeding high-end car lost its control and hit an autorickshaw and few motorcycles at Hussainialam.

The SUV also ran over at least eight pedestrians before escaping the scene.

One of them, an elderly woman, died on the spot while others were rushed to a local hospital.

Police later seized the Mercedes from a garage.

An investigation has been initiated into the accident while the owner-driver of the vehicle is absconding.
