I-Day: Narendra Modi announces mega health care scheme

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday announced that the government will launch Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan next month which will aim to ensure providing good quality and affordable healthcare to the poor.

Modi said the healthcare scheme will be launched on Sept 25.

"Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan will be launched on 25th September this year. It is high time we ensure that the poor of India get access to good quality and affordable healthcare," he said while addressing the nation on Independecne Day.

Modi said his government's Swachh Bharat mission has helped lakhs of children in the nation to lead healthier lives.


Making a crucial announcement in India's progress in the sector of space research Modi sai in 2022 the country will send a man to space.

India will celebrate 75th Independence Day in 2022.

In his crucial announcement, Modi said: "We have decided that by 2022 when India completes 75 years of Independence, or before that, a son or daughter of India is going to to space with a tricolor in their hands."

Modi said: "India is proud of our scientists, who are excelling in their research and are at the forefront of innovation."

In his fifth Independence Day speech, Modi said he is eager take India ahead of all the progressive country's in this world.

Modi said his government is trying to end the Triple Talaq norm followed by the Muslim community in the country,

"The practice of Triple Talaq has caused great injustice among Muslim women. We are trying to end this practice but there are some people who are not wanting it to end. I ensure the Muslim women that I will work to ensure justice is done to them," Modi said in his last Red Fort address before the 2019 general elections.

Modi said corrupt people will not be spared.

"We will not forgive the corrupt and those who have black money. They have ruined the nation. Delhi's streets are free from power brokers. From the voice of power brokers, the voice of the poor is heard," he said.

The PM said his government is trying to establish peace across India.

"Tripura, Meghalaya and many parts of Arunachal Pradesh are seeing historic peace. From 126, Left Wing Extremism is restricted to 90 districts. We are working to ensure peace across the nation," the PM said.

Modi said he wants to witness India progressing further in the upcoming days.

"We need to create a new India," Modi said.
