IED recovered in front of police station in upper Assam

Guwahati, Dec 22 (IBNS): A powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered by security forces in front of a police station in upper Assam district Tinsukia on Monday, police said.
Later an Army bomb squad team had defused the IED.
 
"Suspected militants had planted the IED targeting security personnel which was recovered in front of Pengeri police station, " a top police official said.
 
Top police and army official had rushed to the area and launched operation against the militants.
 
On Sunday, an IED was exploded in lower Assam Chirang district which was triggered by suspected militants.
