The Indian diaspora in Trinidad and Tobago recently participated in an “Epic Hanuman Chalisa Chanting” gathering with support from the Indian High Commission in the Caribbean nation and in collaboration with the Rajasthani Association of North America (RANA) based in New York, media reports said.

Held at the National Council for Indian Culture (NCIC) campus, the event was graced by the presence of Indian High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Pradeep Rajpurohit, who served as the chief guest, with around 15,000 devotees in attendance, reported ANI.

Approximately 11,000 Raksha Sutras were brought from the Ram Lalla Temple in Ayodhya and distributed to the devotees by High Commissioner Pradeep Rajpurohit, the Indian news agency reported.

He commended the efforts of Prem Bhandari, the founder of Overseas Friends of Ram Mandir US, for the role he played to unite the diaspora members for the event.
