Indian sailors jailed in Iran released

New Delhi, Oct 14 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that nine Indian sailors who were in jail in Iran has been released.

They are likely to reach India on Wednesday.

"We have secured the release of Sushil Kapoor and 8 Indians from jail in Iran.They will reach Delhi tomorrow," Swaraj tweeted.

"Iran has released nine Indian sailors - Thank you Iran. Thank you HE @JZarif for a prompt action on our request," she said.

Swaraj had earlier reportedly raised the issue of jailed Indian with Zarif.
