Indians on treasure hunt to know what happened on June 15: P Chidambaram on India-China disengagement
New Delhi/IBNS: As India and China have begun disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh as per their agreed terms in the Corps Commanders-level talks held last week, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Wednesday took a dig at the Centre and asked from which place the Chinese troops pulled back.
China’s People's Liberation Army (PLA) have been seen in satellite images, procured by media, uprooting tents and structures at Patrol Point-14 in Galwan Valley of Eastern Ladakh since Sunday following the Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi's telephonic conversation and mutual agreement to respect the LAC.
Chidambaram asked the government to reveal the location from where both sides are pulling off.
"I welcome the disengagement and pull back by Chinese troops. Will someone tell us the place from which the Chinese troops disengaged and the place in which they are now?" Chidambaram wrote in a series of tweets.

He also said that the Indian people are on a treasure hunt to know what exactly happened on June 15, when the soldiers from two sides engaged in a deadly faceoff resulting in casualties.
"Similarly which is the place from which Indian troops disengaged? Did any troops - Chinese or Indian - move from one side of the LAC to the other? Answers to these questions are necessary because the Indian people are on a Treasure Hunt to find out what happened on June 15 and where," the Congress leader tweeted.

On June 15, Patrol Point 14 in Galwan Valley witnessed a violent clash between the troops of both nations that led to the killing of 20 Indian soldiers.
However, in an all-party meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured that Chinese troops did not cross the border or capture any Indian territory.
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had also attacked the Centre of failing to protect the national interest.
On June 29, following marathon 11-hour talks between Indian and Chinese forces, both arrived at a "mutual consensus" on disengagement.
In the Special Representatives' meeting on Sunday, both agreed that it was necessary to ensure at the earliest complete disengagement of the troops along the LAC and de-escalation from India-China border areas for full restoration of peace and tranquillity.
They further agreed that both sides should complete the ongoing disengagement process along the LAC expeditiously.
