Bhattacharya, a 1973 batch IPS officer, died in a private hospital here on Monday night, after suffering from multiple aliments, official sources said on Tuesday.

She made a history when she was appointed as the DGP of Uttarakhand in the year 2004. Bhattacharya retired from the same post in 2007.
