Indo-China border personnel meet held on 'Army Flag Day'

Udhampur, Dec 7 (IBNS) A ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting was held on Sunday between the Indian Army and the Chinese PLA personnel on the occasion of Indian Army's 'Army Flag Day'.

The two delegations met on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control in the Chushul sector. 

"This meeting marked an improvement of relations between border troops of India and China and helped to enhance the bonhomie between border troops along the Line of Actual Control," read a government statement.

"The Chinese delegation participated in the celebrations of `Army Flag Day’ with enthusiasm and gusto. The festivities were marked by saluting the National Flag of India by members of both delegations. This was followed by a ceremonial address by both delegations leaders which was composed of exchange of greetings, wishes, vote of thanks and reflected the mutual desire of maintaining and improving relations at the functional level on the border. Thereafter, a cultural programme showcasing the vibrant Indian culture and traditional grandeur was organised," it said.

Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment.

The delegations parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control.

Both sides also committed themselves to upholding the treaties and agreements signed between the governments of he two countries to maintain peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control.
