Infiltration bid foiled in Poonch sector

Poonch, Feb 14 (IBNS): The Indian Army said an infiltration bid has been foiled in Poonch Sector from Pakistan side on Saturday.

"At about 1045 hr on 14 Feb 2015, 3-4 persons were observed crossing the line of control in Poonch Sector from Pakistan side. When these persons were well within the Indian territory, own troops deployed in the area opened fire on them," the Indian Army said in a statement.

"Simultaneously, Pakistani Post located immediately across this area opened up with heavy unprovoked firing on own troops," read the statement.

"During the ensuing fire fight, the persons trying to cross the line of control were observed running back towards Pakistan Side," it said.
