Jammu and Kashmir: CRPF jawan, two civilians injured in grenade attack in Sopore

Baramulla/UNI: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan and two civilians were injured in a hand grenade attack by militants in North Kashmir's Sopore district on Friday.

According to sources, panic gripped main Sopore town when militants lobbed a hand grenade at the security forces near the State Bank of India this afternoon. A CRPF jawan received minor splinter injuries and was hospitalized, they said.

Two civilians were also injured in the incident.

People present in the area ran for safety after the blast, sound of which was heard in the entire town.

Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, they said.
