Jammu and Kashmir :Mehbooba Mufti's swearing-in ikely on April 4
Srinagar, Apr 1 (IBNS) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition government is expected to be sworn in on April 4 in a low-key affair in Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a huge political crises over the formation of new government after the Mufti Muhamad Sayeed died as chief minister died on January 7 in New Delhi..
After his death the state was placed under the Governor's rule.
Mehbooba, who is now set to become the first woman chief minister of the Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on March 22 to finalise the deal on the government formation.
Senior PDP leader and former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University Amitabh Mattoo said, “Mehbooba Mufti is to be sworn in as J&K Chief Minister on April 4. May her government usher a in a new era of peace and prosperity in the region."
After his death the state was placed under the Governor's rule.
