Jammu and Kashmir: Stolen property worth lakhs recovered in Srinagar, 6 held

Srinagar, Mar 27 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested six burglars involved in different cases and recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees in this summer capital.

A Police Spokesperson said here on Wednesday that Rajbagh Police Station received a complaint from one Shahid Ahmad Mir that a theft has occurred in his office 'Flexituff International Ltd,' located at Jawahar Nagar Rajbagh in Srinagar.

A case was registered and investigation was taken up, he said, adding that after following various leads, police was able to arrest four accused, identified as Muneeb Ahmad Shah, Asif Ahmad Mir, Mukhtar Ahmad Mir and Imran Ashraf Bhat.


''The accused confessed to have committed this crime and other burglaries in Srinagar,'' he said.


He said police recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees, including laptops, cylinders and printers, among others.

Two more burglars, identified as Gulzar Ahmad Khan and Mohd Anwer Bajraan, involved in separate auto-theft cases and burglary cases in Sadder area of Srinagar were also arrested and stolen property worth lakhs of rupees was recovered, he added.
