Jammu Police solves firing incident, one arrested with pistol

Jammu/UNI: Police on Sunday cracked a firing incident within an hour with the arrest of the accused along with a pistol in Trikuta Nagar area here.

Police said that at 2320 hours on Saturday night, information was received that some unknown person had fired a few shots in South Extension Trikuta Nagar causing panic in the whole locality.

A case was registered and investigation started.

Acting swiftly on the directions of Shridhar Patil, SSP Jammu, Police team led by Inspector Deepak Pathania, SHO Bahu Fort under the supervision of Bikram Kumar JKPS SDPO City East and Deepak Digra, SP City South Jammu rushed to the spot and inspected the spot very minutely.

One individual present on the spot namely Vishal Dhar (Editor Dhar News, Jammu), resident of Ruman House, Gurah Bakshi Nagar, Jammu tried to dodge Police by presenting a false story before Police and concocted a story putting blame on some individuals.

Not satisfied with his version, the Police team brought him to P/S and put him on sustained questioning during which he spilled the beans and admitted his guilt. He confessed that he had fired the shots from his licensed Pistol to threaten Chaman Kaith alias Rohan of South Extension Trikuta Nagar as some dispute was going on between him and his family.

He was immediately arrested and on his disclosure, a weapon of offence (.32 bore pistol) alongwith three live rounds was recovered from the spot.

Chaman Kaith escaped unhurt. The whole case of firing was solved within one hours by Trikuta Nagar Police.

Swift action and timely recovery by Trikuta Nagar Police has been widely appreciated by people of the area.
