Javadekar to participate in 4th meeting Australia-India Education Council

New Delhi, June 27 (IBNS): Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar is leading a four member delegation to Australia from Thursday to July 3 to participate in the 4th meeting of Australia-India Education Council (AIEC).

 

This bi-national body was established in 2011 as a commitment by the Education Ministers of India and Australia to guide the strategic direction of the education, training and research partnership between the two countries.

The AIEC is a forum for members, including academia, industry and government to collaborate with Ministers in deciding major bilateral priorities and collaborative efforts.

During the visit, the Minister will also have a Bilateral Meeting with the Australian Education Minister Simon Birmingham.

The delegation will also visit University of Adelaide, Parafield Gardens High School in Adelaide and Deakin University, University of Melbourne, Monash University in Melbourne to experience the Australian expertise in the fields of Research Excellence, Smart Classrooms, Online Education and ICT initiatives in education.

The Minister will also witness the signing of various institutional level MoUs to be signed between the educational institutions of both the countries.

Both the Ministers will adopt a Joint Communique after the AIEC Meeting.
