Jaya Bachchan objects to jokes on MPs
New Delhi, Aug 14 (IBNS): Actress and Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Jaya Bachchan on Thursday objected to the jokes on Parliamentarians by Radio Jockeys and demanded a for a rule to control their languages.
She has raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha.
"The late night shows in some private channels use very degrading languages while mimicking Parliamentarians. There should be a rule to control such languages and jokes on Parliamentarians. I am not against political satire but I am objecting to the dirty jokes," Bachchan told reporters here.
To her statement in the Upper House, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said that it was a serious matter.
He said that the government will look into the matter.
