Jharkhand: IEDs and huge amount of cartridges recovered in Giridih

Giridih, Apr 3 (UNI) In a joint operation conducted by the CRPF and the district police huge amount of IEDs and cartridges have been recovered from the Mohanpur forest area located under Madhuvan Police Station area of this district.

Police sources today said that the IEDs and cartridges were accumulated by the maoists to create disturbance during the Lok Sabha polls.

Police said that following a secret tip off a joint team of the district police and CEPF's 154th battalion conducted search operations in the jungle and recovered the cartridges and the explosives.


The recovered items included IEDs worth 15 kilograms, hundreds of cartridges and large amount of naxal literature.
