Jishnu Barua to be next Chief Secretary of Assam

Guwahati/IBNS: IAS officer Jishnu Barua of 1988 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre will be the next Chief Secretary of Assam.

The Assam government on Friday appointed Jishnu Barua as the new Chief Secretary of the state.

Barua is currently in charge as Additional Chief Secretary of Home & Political, Revenue & Disaster Management, Secretariat administration (archives) and Border protection & development, Implementation of Assam Accord departments of the state government.

Barua would take over as the Chief Secretary of Assam as the current Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna will be retired on Oct 31.

He was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Assam in December last year.
