J&K: 1 polling officer killed, 5 injured in militant attack

Srinagar, Apr 24 (IBNS): One polling officer was killed five others were injured in a militant attack in Kashmir as the state of Jammu and Kashmir underwent voting for the Lok Sabha election.

 

According to police sources, the polling staff was on his way from village Nagbal area to Shopian when militants fired on staff bus and killed the polling officer while five others were injured in the attack.
 
Sources further said that the staff was back to Shopian after completing the election duties in the area.
 
The whole area was cordoned off and searches were conducted when last reports came in.
