J&K attacks:Terrorists belonged to LeT, says Lt Gen Subrata Saha
Srinagar, Dec 7 (IBNS): Two days after Jammu and Kashmir witnessed four coordinated terror strikes on Friday in less than 12 hours, Lieutenant General Subrata Saha on Sunday said that the terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) group and were highly trained as well as equipped to carry special operations.
"The attacks were well co-ordinated and synchronized. There is no doubt that the terrorists were highly trained and well equipped to carry out special operations," Saha said.
"Items and ammunition recovered from the terrorists were from Pakistan branding," said he.
He also said that the terrorists belong to terror outfit LeT group.
"The sequence in which events have happened shows that it was not a routine infiltration," Saha added.
In the wake of these terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir, security arrangements in the state have been beefed up as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit Srinigar on Monday.
Modi is scheduled to address a rally to campaign for the ongoing Assembly elections in the state.
Heavy security forces have been deployed in the state.
On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed four coordinated terror strikes in less than 12 hours, including the one where militants stormed into an Army camp in Uri town of the state, which killed several people.
The attacks killed 21 people in total including Army personnel, cops civilian and terrorists.
Uri, Srinagar, Tral and Shopian, where the attacks were carried out, goes to polls in the third and fourth phase of Assembly elections in the state over the next 10 days.
