Srinagar/IBNS: The Jammu and Kashmir police officer, who was caught with three hardcore Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists yesterday, had kept the dreaded militants over the night in his heavily guarded home which shares a wall with Army's 15 Corps, reports said.

This came to light after Davinder Singh, a Deputy Superintendent of Police posted at Srinagar International Airport, was caught Saturday at Wanpoh on Jammu-Srinagar highway in Kulgam district.

After the arrests, arms and ammunition were seized from various parts of the city. An Ak-47 and two pistols were found in Davinder Singh's residence in Srinagar's Indranagar area.

Singh received President's Police Medal for Gallantry last year and was part of the envoys of 15 foreign nations on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

According to NDTV,  on Friday Davinder Singh escorted the terrorists from Shopian in south Kashmir to his home, where they stayed overnight.

The news organisation reported that top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Naveed Babu and his two accomplices Irfan and Rafi spent the night in Singh's official residence which shares a wall with Army's 15 Corps Headquarters. Singh and the three militants set out on Saturday morning for Jammu, from where they had plans to go to Delhi.

Singh, who was decorated with President's Police Medal for Gallantry just six months ago, had transported Naveed to several places. Last year, he had escorted him to Jammu, the NDTV report added.

Police is interrogating Singh to learn if his visit to Delhi had anything to do with the Republic Day.
