J&K CS reviews preparations ahead of Union Council of Ministers starting from Jan 18

Jammu/UNI: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam on Friday reviewed the preparations for the visit of Union Ministers to Jammu and Kashmir, commencing from Saturday.

 

Chairing a meeting with the Administrative Secretaries, Divisional and District Administrations, Chief Secretary observed that the 38 Union Ministers are scheduled to visit J&K from Jan 18 to undertake an extensive tour of the districts across 60 different locations, as per the itinerary drawn for the purpose.

The objective of the visit is to disseminate the information about the importance of the government policies with regard to overall development of the J&K and its people along with steps taken in this direction in the last five months.

The Union Ministers would interact with the people to educate them about the schemes or projects being implemented or to be implemented by their Ministries in J&K.

The outreach programme will cover five themes viz rapid development after Presidents Rule from June 2018 and after reorganization in August 2019, 100 percent coverage of 55 beneficiary oriented schemes to all residents of J&K, rapid infrastructure development including implementation of PMDP, flagship schemes and iconic projects, good governance and rule of law with equality of opportunity to all and rapid industrial and economic growth in all sectors with focus on incomes and employment.

A Central Control Room on 24x7 basis with a dedicated team of officers has been established to ensure seamless coordination between various Ministries of Government of India, Administrative Departments, Divisional and District Administration and to facilitate all arrangements including travel, logistics, security and field visits.

A separate WhatsApp Group has been set up to keep all concerned Officers informed about all the required details on a real time basis.

Chief Secretary issued a slew of directions to the Divisional Commissioners and DCs for closely coordinating the visit of the dignitaries so that all events related to the visit are organized impressively and elegantly with participation of Panchayat Representatives and general public.
