J&K: Encounter rages, one Army personnel killed
Srinagar, May 19 (IBNS): At least one Army personnel was killed and three others injured in an encounter which started on Monday between militants and security force at Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, said reports.
The Army personnel was killed in a bullet injury in Chadoora area of Budgam, during the encounter on Monday.
The encounter started in Kaiser Mulla village of Chadoora area after the force laid a cordon around a residential house where militants were believed to be holed up.
The security force received a tip off that three militants were hiding in a house, following which they raided Kausar Mulla village in Chadoora area.
The militants, however, managed to escape form the encounter site.
According to a top police officer, at least four militants were hiding in the house, who managed to escape the site when they were hurled with grenades and heavy firing of Army party.
He further said that the operation is on in the area to nab the militants
The militants started firing at the security personnel as soon as they entered the village, making them retaliate.
The gunfight comes a day after an Army trooper was killed and two others injured in a militant attack on the international border in Jammu.
