J&K police apprehend two terrorists in Handwara area

Srinagar, Aug 14 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two local militants of Harkatul Mujahideen outfit along with some arms in Handwara area of Kupwara in North Kashmir, police said on Monday.

According to an official, the army and police laid a cordon in Handwara town after receiving specific information about the presence of some militants in the area.

“When a search party entered the suspect's house, the militants tried to flee from the house but the alert forces apprehended them along with arms,” said a police official

Both militants, Younis Ahmed and Tahir -ul-Islam, belonged to Harkatul Mujahideen and have recently been active in northern parts of Kashmir valley, the official added.
