Justice MB Snehalatha takes oath as additional judge of Kerala High Court

Thiruvananthapuram/IBNS: Justice MB Snehalatha was sworn in as an additional judge of the Kerala High Court on Friday.

Chief Justice A J Desa administered the oath of office and speakers at the occasion included AG Gopalakrishna Kurup and the KHCAA President.

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended her elevation in October 2023 and the Central government notified her appointment in April 2024.

Born on May 31, 1964, in Ernakulam's Vypin, Justice Snehalatha completed her LLB studies from Government Law College, Ernakulam.

She later secured a postgraduate degree in law from Mahatma Gandhi University.

She enrolled as an advocate in 1987 and cleared the Kerala Judicial Service Examination in 1995 commencing her Judicial career as a Munsiff Magistrate.

In February 2010, she was promoted and posted as a Sub-Judge at Perumbavoor and Chief Judicial Magistrate at Thiruvananthapuram.
