Justice SA Bobde takes oath as Chief Justice of India

New Delhi/IBNS: Justice SA Bobde on Monday took oath as the 47th Chief Justice of India.

He stepped into the shoes of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.

Ranjan Gogoi had recommended Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde as his successor.

CJI Gogoi, who was sworn in on Oct 3, 2018, retired on Nov 17. 

President Ram Nath Kovind administered  Bobde's oath of office.

He will serve as the CJI for around 18 months.

He will retire on  Apr 23, 2021.
