New Delhi, June 21 (IBNS) Union Minister for MSMEs Kalraj Mishra in New Delhi on Saturday received a representation from Laghu Udyog Bharati, a Delhi based organisation which promotes small scale industries.

In their representation to the minister, they demanded the establishment of a welfare commission for SMEs with quasi-judicial powers to oversee the implementation of different government schemes intended for MSMEs.

The organisation also demanded representation in MSME board as well as other related bodies including the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and National Skill Development Council.

"The minister assured that he would look into their demands and take appropriate decision," the government said in a statement.
