Bengaluru/UNI: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday expressed confidence in arresting the person behind the blast at Rameshwaram Cafe, as CCTV cameras have captured his movements.

The blast has left ten people injured. It has not yet been deciphered whether it is a terrorist attack or any organisation is behind it. However, the police are investigating in this regard.

Siddaramaiah also said that a serious investigation is underway to find out whether there are any similarities between the 2022 Mangaluru cooker blast and Rameshwaram Cafe's blast.

Later, Siddaramaiah paid a visit to Brookfield Hospital and inquired about the condition of blast victims.

Before leaving the hospital, he said the government would bear the treatment charges of all the patients.

"About 10 people are injured. Three are here in the Brookfield Hospital, and six others are admitted in Vydehi Hospital. I am also going there. The patients are recuperating and responding very well to the treatment," he said.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has confirmed a high-level meeting of senior police officers with CM Siddaramaiah.

"We have convened a meeting at 1 p.m. The CM chairs the meeting. Higher-ranked police officers will take part in the meeting, which will discuss the blast," he said.

Dr. Parameshawara said that the government has constituted teams to investigate the blast and assured that the accused will be arrested soon.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said the person behind the blast has been identified, and efforts are on to track him using AI-powered facial recognition technology.

The Central Crime Branch is leading the investigation and is hopeful of nabbing him, Dy CM said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the alleged bomber appears to be a man aged between 25 and 30.

CCTV footage shows that the bomber gets off a bus right near the restaurant and walks into it, wearing a mask, pays at the cash counter, and obtains a token for Rava Idli.

Almost an hour after his departure, the bomb was detonated using a timer.
