Karnataka extends lockdown to curb Covid spread till June 7

Bengaluru/IBNS: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday extended the statewide anti-Covid lockdown by another two weeks.

The restrictions will now be in force till June 7 as the state battles the surge in cases in the second Covid wave.

The earlier lockdown, which was in effect from May 10, was to end on May 24.

Karnataka on Friday reported 32,218 fresh Covid cases and 353 fatalities.

The fresh infections have pushed the Covid caseload to 23,67,742 and registered a total fatality of 24,207.

The state presently has 5,14,238 active cases.
