New Delhi, June 16 (IBNS): Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on Monday held detailed discussions with a team of experts from Karnataka on organic farming, to understand the salient features of successful experiments in the state in organic farming.

Anand, ex-Chairman of Karnataka’s Organic Farming Mission, Arun and  Srivatsa, both Directors of Krishi Prayog Pariwar, made presentations before the Agriculture Minister, Agriculture Secretary and senior officers.

They highlighted the successful components of the programmes that were running in Karnataka under the aegis of these two organisations.

"It was felt that experiments in organic farming in Karnataka can be considered for pilot programmes and if found suitable, can be replicated in different parts of the country," the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.
