Karnataka polls: PM Modi to hit campaign trail on Apr 29, May 3

New Delhi/UNI: In order to give a fillip to BJP's electoral prospects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka on April 29 and May 3.

According to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, PM Modi will visit the state on April 29 and May 3. He will start his campaign from Belagavi, and visit Chikodi, Kittur and Kudachi in Belagavi district.

PM Modi will also visit Uttara Kannada district.

BJP President JP Nadda has already embarked on the Karnataka campaign from yesterday by participating in a roadshow at Sidlaghatta in Chikkaballapur district.

Nadda is scheduled to visit a temple at Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district and address several public meetings.

Other star campaigners of BJP include Uttar Pradesh and Assam chief ministers Yogi Adityanath and Himanta Biswa Sarma, who will also hit the election trail in the state.

While Yogi will hold four public rallies on April 26 and April 30, and on May 6 and May 7, Himanta will address five public meetings between May 3 and May 5.

Union Minister Amit Shah has already started his three-day campaign from Monday. He had visited Chamundeshwari temple in Mysuru before holding a roadshow at Gundlupet.

He also held a roadshow in Sakleshpur of Hassan district before flying to North Karnataka's Hubballi and held a meeting with BJP leaders in the aftermath of Jagadish Shettar and Laxman Savadi, quitting BJP and joining Congress.

The duo have been given tickets by the Congress to contest from Hubballi-Dharwad Central and Athani constituencies.

Karnataka will go to polls on May 10 and the votes will be counted on May 13.
