Karunanidhi son Stalin leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly

Chennai, May 24 (IBNS) MK Stalin, son of veteran politician and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi, has been elected as the leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Tuesday, according to media reports.
Stalin is the Treasurer of the DMK.
 
Durai Murugan will be Stalin's deputy, media reported.
 
DMK won 89 seats in the 232-seat state Assembly (elections for two seats will be held in June); its ally, the Congress won 8 seats.
 
During the swearing in ceremony of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister  and AIADMK chief, J Jayalalithaa, on Monday, Stalin was seated at the 16th row, which has drew strong objections from his father M Karunanidhi, media reported.
