Kashmir: 2 CRPF, 1 SPO killed in militant attack in Baramulla

Baramulla/UNI: Three security force personnel, including two CRPF jawan and one Special Police Officer (SPO) of J&K police, were killed in a militant attack on in the north Kashmir district of Baramilla on Monday.

Official sources said that militants opened indiscriminate firing towards a joint CRPF and police party at Kreeri, Pattan in Baramulla district on Monday morning.

“Three security force personnel, including two CRPF jawans and one SPO, were critically injured in the attack,” they said.

They said the wounded were rushed to a hospital where they succumbed. “The militants managed to escape from the spot,” they said, adding additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.

This was the second firing incident in Baramulla as militants fired upon a security force party in Sopore on Sunday.
