Kashmir: Army foils infiltration bid along LoC in Rajouri, terrorist killed

Jammu/UNI: The Army troops early morning on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid and eliminated one terrorist along the Line of Control in Keri sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence spokesperson here said that, 'at around 0555 hours, a group of terrorists fired upon when they sneaked into the Indian Territory on this side of the Line of Control.'

He further said that based on specific intelligence inputs from J&K Police, a joint operation was launched close to Line of Control in Keri area of Bhimber Gali Sector in District Rajouri.

"Terrorists were seen crossing the Line of Control, alert troops of Indian Army foiled the infiltration bid resulting in the killing of one terrorist," he stated.

The spokesperson further stated that one AK-47 with two magazines recovered from the spot while the search operation was in progress.

Security forces have so far killed 128 terrorists this year including 48 in the month of June in different operations across Jammu and Kashmir.
