Kashmir : Police officer killed in militant attack
Srinagar, Nov 17 (IBNS) : A police officer was killed and another injured after militants opened fire on a police party in Zakura area of Srinagar on Friday.
According to official sources, policemen were conducting a search operation in the area on inputs about the presence of militants.
“As the search was going on, the militants on hiding opened fire, resulting in injuries to two cops-a sub-inspector and a special police officer,” the report said.
The sub-inspector, identified as Imran Ahmad Tak, succumbed to his injuries.
A militant has been reportedly arrested by police.
