Kashmir: Three nabbed with arms, ammo, weapons near LoC in Poonch

Jammu/UNI: Security forces apprehended three persons along with arms, ammunition and narcotics near the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources on Wednesday said that during a search operation on specific inputs about movement of suspects in Karmada forest area, the Army opened fire.

During the operation, three locals were apprehended with arms, ammunition and narcotics.

The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Riyaz,23, (injured), Mohammad Zubair,22 and Mohammad Farooq,26.

Sources said that from their possession, troops recovered one Ak 56 rifle, magazine, 10 Ak bullets, two pistols, four pistol magazines, 70 pistol bullets, six hand grenades, heroin (worth crores) and a suspected pressure cooker fitted with an IED.

"The search operation is in progress while the arrested persons are being questioned and investigation is on," they added.
