| | Dec 10, 2017, at 09:48 pm

Srinagar, Dec 10 (IBNS): Kashmir Valley is observing a shutdown on the eve of International Human Rights Day on Sunday.

Life has come to a standstill in old Srinagar city while strict restrictions are in place in city centre Lal Chowk. The UN office located at Sonwar Srinagar has been made out of bounds for people.

Shops and business establishments are closed while popular Sunday Market is also closed.

Concertina wires have been placed at different intersections to check the movement of the vehicles and people in Srinagar.

Reports of shutdown have also poured from other districts of Valley.

Separatist leaders are either jailed or have been placed under house arrest.

Pertinently, the call for shutdown has been forwarded by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
