New Delhi, Mar 7 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Kathua rape and murder case trial to be moved to a court in Pathankot (Pumhab), according to media reports.

The family of the victim had requested the trial be moved out of Jammu and Kashmir as their advocate faced obstructions from lawyers in Jammu and Kashmir when the chargesheet was being filed, reports said.

However, the apex court has ruled out any probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The Supreme Court has ordered for day-today hearing and said that adjournments stand in the way of speedy trial.

The top court will also monitor the trial, reports said.

There will be in camera hearing to protect witnesses, reports quoting the SC said,

Meanwhile, the Kathua court on Monday posted the hearing for the case involving the juvenile accused in the rape and murder of the eight-year-old girl in Kathua for the third week of May, reported NDTV.

Chief Judicial Magistrate AS Langeh fixed the hearing for Tuesday, May 22.

The incident, in which an eight-year old girl was allegedly raped, mutilated and murdered by eight men inside a temple in Rassana area of  Heeranagar, in Jammu and Kashmir, created an uproar across the country.
