Kerala: Buffaloes hit by train, 10 die on rail track

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: In a tragic incident, 10 buffaloes were killed after they have been hit by a speeding train at Veli railway station near here on Sunday.

In the mishap, the Thiruvananthapuram-Kannur Jan Shatabdi Express hit the buffaloes at 1430 hrs killing most of them at the spot itself and others succumbing to serious injuries later.


The train resumed journey after removing the body remnants lying on the track and between bogies.


The train traffic between Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam got delayed more than one-hour after the mishap.
