Kerala: Daughter forced to convert to Islam, mother alleges

| | Jul 21, 2016, at 06:06 pm
Kochi, July 21 (IBNS): A mother of an engineering student alleged that her daughter was forced to convert to Islam after she rechristened herself Shahana, renouncing her birth name Aparna, reports stated.

However, the daughter dismissed her mother's claim of  forced conversion and refused to go home with her parents, when produced in High Court.

The mother also said that after the news of 20 Kerala students, who went missing surfaced, her daughter stopped taking her calls.

One among these 20 students was Nimisha alias Fathima, who too changed her name and converted to Islam.

Police suspects that most of them have aligned with the ISIS.
