Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun threatens to disrupt upcoming Mahakumbh

Banned group Sikhs for Justice leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened to disrupt the Mahakumbh, one of the highest congregations of Hindu devotees, that will be held in the north Indian city of Prayagraj from January 13.

Releasing a video, Pannun asked supporters to raise Khalistani and Kashmiri flags in Lucknow and Prayagraj airports.

He was quoted as saying in the video by India Today: "Mahakumbh Prayagraj 2025 will become a battlefield."

Hundreds of Hindu devotees, including aesthetics, bathe in the confluence of the holy  Ganges, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati during the holy event.

Hindus believe that bathing in the holy Ganges during Mahakumbh brings salvation from the cycle of life and death.

Meanwhile, Pannun threatened to target the religious event just days after three  pro-Khalistan terrorists were gunned down during an encounter with Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Police in Pilibhit.
