Kolkata/IBNS: The Kolkata Police on Monday late night nabbed another BJP activist for raising controversial 'Goli Maro' (Shoot them) slogan amid Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to the city on Sunday, taking the arrest count in the case to four, officials said on Tuesday.

According to reports, police from central Kolkata's New Market Police Station arrested BJP activist Sujit Barua from Ghola in Sodepur area in city's neighbouring North 24 Parganas district.

The man will be produced before a city court on Tuesday.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, few BJP supporters en route to Shah's Shaheed Minar rally raised 'Goli Maro' slogan at city's downtown Esplanade area.

Hours after the incident, Kolkata Police registered a suo moto FIR at New Market PS under IPC sections 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief), 506 (Criminal intimidation) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) against 'unidentified' persons.

After starting probe into the matter, police had earlier arrested three members of BJP's lawyers' cell, Surendra Kumar Tiwari, Pankaj Prasad and Dhruba Basu, from New Market PS area on Sunday midnight.

They were produced to Bankshall Court on Monday where Dhurba Basu was granted bail, and Surendra Kumar Tiwari and Pankaj Prasad were remanded to two-day police custody.

A senior official of city police said that an investigation was underway in the case while police had identified 25 more persons after examining CCTV and other camera footage of the incident.
