Kolkata: Left parties hold anti-communalism rally

Kolkata, Dec 6 (IBNS): The Left parties organized a rally against "communalism" in Kolkata on Saturday.

Leaders and supporters of 17 left parties, including those from the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Communist Party of India (CPI), All India Forward Block (AIFB), Revelutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI), Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist (CPI-ML), joined the rally.

The rally started from Mahajati Sadan and ended in front of Academy of Fine Arts area in Kolkata.

Left Front chairperson Biman Basu, CPI-M leader Rabin Deb, Sujan Chakraborty, CITU leader Anadi Sahu, RSP leader Khiti Goswami, CPI leader Manju Kumar Majumder participated in the rally.

After the rally, Biman Basu attacked the BJP and called it the 'top communal party' of the country.

"The Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Congress are the fake secular parties and the Bharatiya Janata Party is the top communal party," he said.
