Kolkata, June 23 (IBNS) The Metro service in Kolkata was severely disrupted and gave a scare to passengers who were stranded inside a rake for nearly an hour between Park Street and Maidan stations on Monday morning.

A few passengers fell sick too and commuters complained that there was no announcement for nearly 40 minutes, sparking a panic. At one point even lights and fans were not working.

The train was bound for Dum Dum and the incident occurred around 11 am.

However, all passengers were later evacuated.

Services were disrupted for over two hours owing to the incident.
