Kolkata: Speeding ambulance hurts 3 students, 2 pedestrians

Kolkata, Oct 25 (IBNS): At least five persons, including three students, were seriously injured on Tuesday when an over-speeding ambulance hit them on Jessore Road near Bangur Avenue at Lake Town area in Kolkata, reports said.

According to reports, the speeding ambulance, which was going to Shyambazar from Nagerbazar, suddenly lost its control and hit two pedestrians and three students of St. Xaviers Collegiate School- Lavnesh Chowdhary, Saransh Valotia and Rishav Agarwal.

After being rescued, injured persons were rushed to nearby hospitals.

During accident, the ambulance was empty and the driver was allegedly drunk, according to eye-witnesses accounts.

However, police have seized the ambulance and held the accused driver.
