Kuchina Foundation join hands with Prabha Khaitan Foundation to distribute text books to children in Kolkata

Kolkata, Feb 13 (IBNS): Prabha Khaitan Foundation (PKF) in association with Bharat Relief Society (BRS) and supported by Kuchina Foundation recently distributed school text books to the needy children at a function called Gyan Yagna Vidya Dan Samaroh at the Maheshwari Sadan in central Kolkata.

Namit Bajoria, the Honorary Consul of The Republic of Macedonia in Kolkata, and the founder trustee of welfare organisation Kutchina Foundation, inaugurated the event by distributing books to the children.

Guest-of-Honour, O P Dhanuka and Champa Lal Saraogi were present along with Bishambhar Newar, General Secretary of Bharat Relief Society and other guests, dignitaries, teachers and underprivileged children.

“Education is the best gift any child can have and books are our best friends. It is a great honour to be a part of a laudable initiative to distribute books to the needy children. I myself, through my NGO Kutchina Foundation, have always been supportive of such social welfare initiatives where young minds get support to realise their full potential. I congratulate Bharat Relief Society for the good work they have been doing over the past few decades,” said Namit Bajoria, Honorary Consul of The Republic of Macedonia, Kolkata.

Praising the Society's initiative, Namit Bajoria, said, “Education is a basic right of a child and it is good that organizations like Bharat Relief Society and Prabha Khaitan Foundation to come forward to help the disadvantaged children.”

Other members of Bharat Relief Society were also present on the occasion and distributed books to the needy children.

Bishambhar Newar, General Secretary, Bharat Relief Society, conducted the programme in which, in all over 1500 needy students have benefited from the initiative which is an annual event that has completed 32 years.

“Bharat Relief Society has been doing many social activities by generating its own finances for the past many years. We are thankful to the organisations who have come forward to help us in this nobel cause,” said Bishambhar Newar.

Till date over 70,000 students have benefited from the “Gyan Yagna Vidya Dan Samaroh” initiative across India. The Society also runs an ambulance service and is engaged in many social welfare projects that help the poor and the disadvantaged.
