Lands snatched from farmers by ruling BJP: Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat

| @indiablooms | Nov 11, 2017, at 05:39 pm

Ambaji, Nov 11 (IBNS): Continuing the sharp attacks against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that the former  forcefully took away the lands from the farmers of Gujarat and gave them to the industrialists.

Gandhi, who began his three-day road trip in north Gujarat on Saturday, said: "They (BJP) have snatched the farmlands and handed over to the industrialists without a proper compensation."

"Your (farmers) lives have been destroyed," the Congress VP added.

Gandhi will be touring six districts of north Gujarat in the next three days.

The Congress vice president has been very proactive in campaigning in Gujarat where the political battle has already started between the Congress and the BJP for the Assembly poll, scheduled to be held in December.

Ensuring the farmers of better lives, Gandhi confidently said the Congress will come to power and solve the problems in the state.

Gandhi, who has been criticising the Goods and Services Tax and demonetisation of late, did not leave the opportunity to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

He clearly stated the two actions taken by the central government in last one year have affected people.

Prior to his address to the people, Gandhi visited Ambaji temple in the northern part of the state.

The poll in the state will be conducted in two phases, on Dec. 9 and 14.

The poll counting will take place on Dec. 18.

Presently the Bharatiya Janata Party is ruling Gujarat under chief minister Vijay Rupani.

The BJP is ruling in the state since 1995.
