Lucknow: 51 girls rescued from Madrasa, one arrested

Lucknow, Dec 30 (IBNS): In a shocking incident, at least 51 girls were rescued from a Madrasa in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow city.

According to reports, acting on a tip-off, police raided Madrasa Jamia Khadeejtul Qubra Lilabnat in Yasinganj on Friday night.

Later, following complaints of sexual molestation from the victims, arrested the manager.

The PTI news agency reported that the perpetrator has been identified as Mohammad Taiyab Zia.

He was produced in court on Saturday and has been sentenced to a fortnight's judicial custody.

Reports sated that the heinous crime came to light only after some of the victims alerted the neighbours by writing down their plight in piece of papers and slipping them down from the windows.

Suspecting a foul play, the neighbours informed the police.

Police said that they have initiated an investigation and is checking if the institution has a valid registration.
