Bhopal, Nov 3 (IBNS):  Days before the Assembly polls, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's brother-in-law Sanjay Singh Masani on Saturday joined the Congress.

Masani, the brother of Chouhan's wife Sadhana, was formally inducted to the party in the presence of senior Congress leader Kamal Nath.

Campaign committee chief Jyotiraditya Scindia was also present at the moment.

Speaking to media, Sanjay Singh Masani said: "Madhya Pradesh does not need Shivraj but Nath."

"We all know how Chhindwara has been developed," he said referring to Nath's Lok Sabha constituency.

"Madhya Pradesh will now be known by the name of Kamal Nath," he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday issued the first list of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls.

The single-phase election will take place on Nov 28.

The BJP has named 177 candidates in the list.

MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan will contest the polls from Budhni constituency.
