Maharashtra: Cop held for graft in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, May 22 (UNI) The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Kotwal while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from the complainant, the ACB said on Wednesday.

According to the ACB, the complainant, who is a sand dealer, was in legal trouble as his sand-laden truck was seized and the Talathi was preparing to lodge a police complaint against him.

The accused Anil Fajge (41) demanded the bribe from a sand dealer in lieu of coaxing the Talathi not to lodge the police complaint, the ACB further said.

The accused was nabbed while accepting the bribe on Tuesday, from the complainant, the ACB stated.

A case has been booked under relevant sections, the ACB added.
