Maharashtra cop's son hits woman with speeding car in Pune, video goes viral

A Maharashtra policeman's son was caught on CCTV camera hitting a woman, who was walking on the street, with his speeding car in the west Indian state's Pimpri-Chinchwad area on Wednesday.

She was rushed to the local hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident happened in Bhosari area.

The CCTV footage showed the car hitting the woman who was flung in the air and then fell some distance away following the impact.

Upon receiving a complaint from the woman's brother, the police arrested the car's driver, identified as Vinay Vilas Naykere, sections 279 (related to rash or negligent driving), 337 (related to causing hurt to any person by doing any act negligently) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vechile Act (MVA), reported India Today news channel.
